Just a reminder to keep checking our Algarve events page for the latest news on Christmas and New Year in the Algarve 2009/10. Most of the main New Year's Eve celebrations have now been confirmed with great music and fantastic fireworks displays all the way along the coast!
Starting at the eastern end of the Algarve - Monte Gordo goes all out with 4 fantastic nights of music on the sea front; Tavira and Cabanas have fireworks displays (we're still waiting for further details about entertainment in Tavira); Faro has a rock musical, Dj's and of course, fireworks; Vale do Lobo has a New Year party at Monty's and fireworks; Quarteira has a night of music and fireworks on the sea front; Albufeira is staging a concert with The Gift and Madcon as the headline acts, a fireworks display and an attempt at the "Biggest Toast in the World" for the Guinness Book of Records! Portimão, Praia da Rocha and Alvor have great music and fireworks and Lagos has music and fireworks on the waterfront.
Vila Real de Santo António definitely has the Christmas feel now with a skating rink, Father Christmas tent, Christmas market and lots of entertainment in the Marquês do Pombal square all through December and Lagos is having a Christmas market in the town centre for the week before Christmas.
