Was ACCA's Christmas tree smaller this year or was the pile of presents bigger?! It would certainly appear to be the latter, if you saw the tree last week, surrounded, if not overwhelmed, by just a fraction of the presents that have been donated for this year’s Angel Programme!
For those of you who are unaware of the programme, it was set up over 8 years ago by ACCA (helping children in need in the Algarve). The purpose of the programme is to invite those more privileged to purchase an extra present for a local child in need, who ordinarily may receive little or nothing for Christmas. “It has been such a successful programme, exceeding all of our expectations from day one” says Wanda Crawford, founder Member of ACCA “we really can’t thank people enough for their generosity...a small gift can make a big difference to these children on this special day.”
ACCA would like to give a huge thank you to all of the volunteers & people who bought presents or made generous donations this year. They could not have done it without the support of Casa Curiosa which warehoused all of the gifts - their warehouse looked like Santa’s workshop at one point overflowing with gifts. So from ACCA - a warm thanks to all the companies & individuals that contributed.
ACCA has now delivered all the gifts to the institutions and homes of the children, all of whom, they know, will be truly grateful. So, a big thank you ‘with a bow on top’ to all who donated. And, don’t fret, if you didn’t get a chance to help this year, you can always make your contribution next year. Or, better still, make it a new year’s resolution to become a member of ACCA and start helping straight away.
