We will soon be featuring the beautiful tourism village, Quinta do Mar da Luz, on PraiaDaLuzUncovered.com and BurgauUncovered.com and so I am able to give the most accurate account of it, I was invited to their breakfast on Saturday morning. I had already visited Quinta do Mar da Luz on Thursday, and was given a great buggy tour around the village by one of the lovely girls who works there, and although we visited the breakfast area, manager Dona Conceição, had said that the area has a completely different feeling first thing in the morning when breakfast is being served; and how right she was!

The weather could not have been better in the morning, with crystal clear blue skies and bright sunshine. It was really warm on the terrace (probably about 20°c - not bad for a mid-November morning at 9am!) and I sat and had a coffee while the breakfast team were finishing setting up. The first thing that struck me, apart from the fantastic location of the terrace (which looks out over the sea), were the brightly coloured place mates on the tables and the cushions on the chairs, colours of pink, yellow, blue and orange, which just shouted Summery Algarve! Inside the breakfast room, the bright colours were echoed on the teapots (which have been specially selected from "Loja do Gata Preta" according to one of the team - the gentleman also said it was "Dona Conceição's special touch" which is the reasoning behind the wonderful colours).

As I started to walk around the breakfast room, I quickly realised that this was going to be a very good breakfast! There were cereals, dried and fresh fruits, yogurts, cheeses, cold meats, salad, several types of bread, jams and spreads, waffles (with cream, chocolate / caramel / strawberry sauces to choose from), cheesecake, pastries, and of course, the tradtional eggs, bacon, sausages and beans! There was also a juice machine offering four types of fruit juice, a coffee machine (serving hot chocolate too) and a great selection of teas (including fruit teas).

As I finished surveying the delights, the guests started to arrive (all doning sunglasses of course!), each choosing their little spot in the sun on the terrace before heading inside to grab a plate. It was hardly surprising to see that no one opted to sit inside! I followed suit and went to choose something for breakfast - as a vegan, I usually wouldn't be that excited about eating breakfast 'out' but I'd already spotted the rye bread, marmalade, slices of orange and peach, prunes, apricots and raisins so I knew I was going to be happy! I grabbed another coffee and joined the other guests out on the terrace to breakfast in the sun. There was some lovely guitar music playing in the background, which just added to the feeling of complete relaxation!

It really was a great way to start the day and, as I said in the summary to my article, there aren't many things that I get out of bed early on a Saturday for, but breakfast at Quinta do Mar da Luz will remain one of them!
