It's May and the Algarve weather is lovely! Lots of blue skies and sunshine with shade temperatures in the low 20'sC and temperatures in the sunshine between 26°C and 30°C.

	May 1st 2010: 22°C in the shade 26°C in the sun Summary: It was a lovely day for the bank holiday with lots of sunshine and blue skies and a light breeze in the afternoon. Labour Day is one of the main bank holidays in Portugal with most of the supermarkets closed all day, not just in the afternoon. Although the day was a Saturday, Portugal doesn't follow the UK pattern of moving the bank holiday to Monday.
	May 2nd 2010: 22°C in the shade 26°C in the sun Summary: Another lovely day although a bit breezy.
	May 3rd 2010: 20°C in the shade 24°C in the sun Summary: Another lovely day although the breeze was cooler so dropped the temperature a couple of degrees. The giant fennel flowers on the cliffs create an unusual landscape! There are a lot more of them this year too so feels like a "fennel forest"!
	May 4th 2010: 20°C in the shade 24°C in the sun Summary: More blue skies and sunshine but still a slightly cool wind.
	May 5th 2010: 22°C in the shade 29°C in the sun Summary: What a difference a day makes! No wind today and look how flat the sea is...like a mirror! A glorious day with blue skies all day.
	May 6th 2010: 25°C and cloudy Summary: A beautifully warm day but a bit cloudy and no wind to blow them away!
	May 7th 2010: 22°C and cloudy Summary: Really cloudy today whereas yesterday was more of a haze in comparison.
	May 8th 2010 (sorry, no photo today): 20°C and showery Summary: It was cloudy all day with showers and overnight it poured down. May 9th 2010: 22°C in the shade 27°C in the sun Summary: A lovely sunny day with just a couple of showers. Nearly forgot to take the photo as it was all about football this afternoon! Benfica are the new Portuguese champions - a popular win for their many supporters in the Algarve and celebrated in true portuguese fashion with cars tooting their horns all around the town for a good couple of hours!
	May 10th 2010: 22°C in the shade 29°C in the sun Summary: Heavy rain overnight but a beautiful start to the day with blue skies and lots of sunshine. It's gone a little bit cloudy this afternoon but staying warm.
