The weather in the Algarve during August has been hot, dry and sunny...just as expected! The temperatures have been consistently in the mid to high 30'sC with night time temperatures not dropping much below 18°C. The gentle breezes in the afternoons make even the highest temperatures feel quite comfortable although on a couple of days it was more like a hot air fan!
Temperatures do vary by a few degrees across the region with the western end of the Algarve getting more benefit from the sea breezes than central areas and the west coast from Sagres northwards is normally the coolest - for instance it was 33°C in Lagos and 28°C on Bordeira beach 40 minutes later! If we had gone towards the central areas like Albufeira and Quarteira the temperatures would have been just a couple of degrees higher than Lagos.
These photos represent the Algarve weather in August perfectly - cloudless blue skies and long, sunny days!
