The Algarve is also dotted with world class golf courses, the most famous being the Sir Henry Cotton Championship Course, also known as "The Penina" at the Penina Hotel & Golf Resort; it was the first resort course to be built in Portugal!
The fantastic all-year-round weather also makes the Algarve a great place for other outdoor activities such as tennis, horse riding, hiking and running and with so many wonderful things to see, sightseeing is always on the "must-do" list!
For the more daring, there are extreme sports like sky diving, quad biking and mountain biking and virtually every water sport that you can think of!
