Your privacy, your choice.

How we measure visits and remember your preferences.

Updated 26 October 2026. This notice covers the Algarve Uncovered website. For privacy questions or requests, use our contact form.

Optional analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 only if you accept analytics cookies. It helps us understand visits, the guides people read, reading depth, outbound link clicks and where visitors come from. You can reject analytics and still use the site.

Before you accept, we do not load the Google Analytics tag or send it measurement requests. Advertising storage, advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled. Our private previews and staging site do not run Analytics.

When you accept, Google receives information such as the pages viewed, approximate location derived from the connection, browser and device information, and visit timing. Analytics uses pseudonymous browser identifiers; this is not anonymous data. We remove query strings and fragments from the page and referrer addresses we supply to Analytics, and do not send site-search text or form contents.

What is stored in your browser

  • Your analytics choice: stored on this site in your browser for up to 180 days, so we can remember acceptance or rejection. It does not identify you to Google.
  • Analytics cookies: if you accept, Google may set cookies named _ga and _ga_… to distinguish browsers and visits. We limit their lifetime to 180 days without extending it on every page load.

The hosting service may also process connection information needed to deliver and secure the site. External booking, tourism and map websites have their own privacy notices when you follow their links.

Change your mind

Use Cookie settings here or in the footer to change your choice. Rejecting after acceptance stops Analytics, removes its accessible cookies for this site and reloads the page. It does not automatically delete information already received by Google. Clearing browser storage also removes your saved preference.

Messages you send us

When you use the contact form, we process your name (if supplied), email address, enquiry type and message so we can respond. Messages are delivered through Amazon Web Services to our private inbox. We retain correspondence as needed to handle the enquiry and related obligations. Short-lived, pseudonymous anti-spam counters help limit repeated submissions; these counters do not contain your message or email address. Analytics consent is not required to contact us.

Google and your information

Google processes Analytics information using its infrastructure, which can involve processing outside your country. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google’s privacy policy. We do not sell visitor information or use this setup for personalized advertising.

To ask about access, correction, deletion or other privacy rights that apply to you, use our contact form. Please do not send sensitive personal information or booking payment details.
