Spend a day at Arrifana

Arrifana offers a cliff-enclosed bay and a strong surfing focus. Decide whether the outing is for beach time, scenery or instruction before choosing the day’s arrangements. A property in Vale da Telha does not automatically mean an easy walk to the sand, so plan to the particular entrance. If taking a lesson, confirm the meeting point and whether any transport is included rather than assuming it starts at your accommodation.

Choose Monte Clérigo or Amoreira

Monte Clérigo gives you a small coastal-settlement setting beside the beach, while Amoreira adds dunes and a river mouth. They offer variety without needing to visit both in one hurried afternoon. Compare the access and your return before choosing. The river landscape at Amoreira is attractive to observe, but quieter-looking water should not be treated as a guarantee that it suits everyone for swimming.

Give Aljezur town its own visit

Aljezur’s old streets and castle make a useful contrast to days on the coast. Choose a manageable walk through the hillside quarter and leave time for a meal. A visit here adds the valley and historic town setting to a stay otherwise centred on beaches. Plan it as a town outing rather than a brief stop for supplies on the way somewhere else.

Research a coastal walk

The Rota Vicentina network includes the Aljezur–Arrifana route and related walking options. Select a route suited to the group and establish how it connects with your property. A route passing through the wider area is not necessarily at the front door. Use the map and warnings and arrange a return for a one-way outing. A shorter well-planned walk can be more rewarding than an ambitious stage with awkward logistics.
