What to expect
Albufeira Riding Centre is based at Vale Navio, with countryside tracks through an area of orange groves and cork trees. Families can choose between treks and lessons, including a shorter beginner outing aimed at children aged four to ten. Parents can join that activity, making it an option when a child wants a first ride with family nearby. Longer treks and private lessons serve different interests and levels of experience.
The Saturday Pony Club is a separate programme for ages six to sixteen, covering riding and wider subjects such as stable management, games and road safety. It is useful to decide whether the child wants a holiday ride or a more structured session about caring for horses before enquiring. Booking requests ask for each rider’s experience, height and weight; a request is then confirmed by the centre. Follow the instructions for the selected activity rather than assuming that every horse, route or session suits every age. Use the Vale Navio location for directions and allow time for the riding preparations.
