About the course
Vale de Milho sits close to Carvoeiro and looks towards the Atlantic. Dave Thomas designed the nine-hole course as a scaled-down golf layout, with adult par 3 play and a customised junior format. Its trees, lakes, bunkers and contoured greens give players more to think about than simply the distance of each hole. This is a short golf course played with conventional clubs, rather than a themed miniature-golf attraction, and it can fit a different kind of holiday outing from a full championship round.
The operator publishes visitor green-fee options, including 18-hole play that repeats the same nine, and welcomes both members and visitors. Hire clubs and trolleys are available, while the course specifically says that buggies are not offered. PGA tuition can be arranged for different abilities, making a lesson worth considering for beginners before they head onto the course. The Six Golfe clubhouse provides a meeting point for food and drinks. If travelling with children, ask how the junior setup works and arrange suitable equipment rather than assuming an adult booking automatically covers a family group.
