Choose the arrival address within Sagres
Start with the property address, not just the name Sagres. The main town, Tonel side and Martinhal area imply different final drop-offs. Confirm the check-in process and where a driver should stop if access is indirect. If travelling with surfboards, large bags or children, tell a transfer provider exactly what the vehicle needs to accommodate before choosing on price alone.
Use Lagos as the rail interchange
The CP Algarve regional line terminates at Lagos. From there, investigate a regional bus or an arranged vehicle for the journey towards Sagres. A rail booking to Lagos is not a through journey to the final resort. Use the current VAMUS planner for the stops and days you need and allow time for the connection. The return service is particularly important if your stay begins or ends outside busy travel periods.
Include the first leg from Faro Airport
A flight into Faro adds another connection before any train journey begins. Use the airport’s transport information to identify the trip out of the terminal and into the relevant interchange. Allow time for baggage and the wait for the next service. With an onward road journey after Lagos too, public transport can involve several stages; compare the convenience of the whole route with a direct transfer for the number of people travelling.
Compare driving and direct transfers
A direct transfer can be practical for late flights and short stays. A hire car becomes more useful if you also want the cape, different beaches and inland stops during the holiday. Arrange parking at your property and use a current route for the road journey rather than an old estimate. For departure, leave a comfortable margin for the trip back east, fuel or rental return where relevant, and the airport’s check-in requirements.
