About the course
Amendoeira’s Academy Course provides nine short holes between the resort’s two full-length courses at Alcantarilha. It is a par 3 pitch-and-putt course, played with golf clubs on real greens, rather than a miniature-golf attraction. Different teeing options change the line into the greens, and water is part of the design on the seventh hole. The shorter format makes it worth considering for players developing their game or for golfers who want to practise approaches without committing to another full 18-hole round.
The operator identifies floodlighting as a feature of the course, but visitors should arrange the actual playing session with the golf team rather than assume an evening slot is available whenever they arrive. The wider academy offers instruction for adults and juniors, along with a driving range and putting and short-game areas. A lesson, a range session and an Academy Course round are separate activities, so describe what you want to do when booking. Its location also makes the short course a possible meeting point within a resort-based golf holiday with mixed levels of experience.
