About the course
The Faldo Course occupies the higher ground at Amendoeira Golf Resort in Alcantarilha. Nick Faldo’s 18-hole design uses changes of level, rocky features and carefully positioned hazards to ask questions about the line and length of each shot. It is a different round from the neighbouring O’Connor Jnr. Course in the valley below. The setting suits a golf holiday based around Armação de Pêra or Silves, with the course itself inland rather than beside the beach.
Amendoeira has a shared golf clubhouse and practice infrastructure, including a driving range, putting greens and long- and short-game areas. Its nine-hole Academy Course is another separately identified short-course option, not part of the Faldo 18. Specify which course you want when contacting golf reservations, particularly if booking a package that includes more than one round. The hills are part of the Faldo experience, so discuss transport around the course if walking is a concern. Golf clothing rules apply, and tuition should be arranged as an additional service rather than assumed to come with a tee time.
