Centro Hípico de Tavira

Centro Hípico de Tavira offers riding lessons for adults and children, including introductory teaching from age three. The school also arranges group countryside rides and children’s events. Lessons and outdoor rides are different activities, so establish which format is suitable for each family member before booking.

Rua General José de Chelmicki, Tavira

What to expect

Centro Hípico de Tavira provides an equestrian option within the eastern Algarve, with lessons that combine theory and practice in an arena and in the countryside. The school accepts children for lessons from age three and also welcomes adults and first-time riders. An introductory lesson can be a more useful starting point than a long excursion when a young child is learning how to sit, follow instructions and become comfortable around a horse.

Countryside outings are another part of the school’s offer, organised in groups even when an individual makes the enquiry. Do not apply the lesson age to every outdoor ride: discuss the route, the child’s ability and the appropriate format with the school. Children’s birthdays and introductory equestrian experiences can also be arranged separately. The published base is Rua General José de Chelmicki in Tavira. Make an activity booking before travelling, give the staff an accurate picture of everyone’s experience, and ask what clothing and equipment they want participants to use for that particular session.
