What to expect
Lagos Horse Riding & Rescue is based in Bensafrim, in the countryside outside Lagos. Its children’s pony ride follows a route around the farm, passing goats, small pigs, donkeys and other horses. The advertised children’s range is three to twelve, making it a possible introduction for a child who wants to try a pony without committing to a long trail ride. Visits and activities are arranged with the centre, rather than general admission to a walk-in animal park.
Adults and more experienced riders can choose countryside hacks, with the route and pace matched to the least experienced participant in a private group. Share everyone’s riding background when booking, and consider separate rides if one person wants a faster outing while another is learning. The centre also offers children’s parties by arrangement. Its rural property has no conventional street name, so use the supplied Bensafrim map pin and plan the return journey as well as the arrival. The riding programme supports the associated rescue work; retired rescue horses are not used in that programme.
