What to expect
Tiffany’s Riding Centre is on the EN 125 between Espiche and Almádena, west of Lagos and close to the Praia da Luz and Burgau area. Its family offering ranges from short, led pony rides around the quinta to introductions that begin in the arena before going into the countryside. The pony option is for ages four to nine, while the beginner ride starts from six. Longer and faster rides have different requirements, so the shortest activity is not simply a smaller version of every other route.
Book ahead and describe the least experienced rider honestly. The centre asks for riders’ age, height, weight and ability so it can select horses and arrange an appropriate group; maximum weights vary by ride. Helmets are included, and long trousers with secure, enclosed footwear are recommended. These are countryside experiences rather than a promise of beach riding. A parent or guardian may need to accompany a younger child, depending on the activity and confidence. Let the instructor choose a manageable pace instead of planning a canter for a family of first-time riders.
