About the course
Álamos Golf Course shares the Morgado do Reguengo estate with Morgado but provides a separate 18-hole round. The operator describes relatively short holes and smaller greens, with views of lakes and the Serra de Monchique. That combination puts attention on approach shots and distance control rather than simply choosing the longest club. The course lies inland of Portimão, so it is better understood as a countryside golf option from Portimão or Alvor than as a course in the mountain town of Monchique itself.
The shared facilities include practice tees, putting and chipping greens, a golf academy, clubhouse and pro shop. Clubs, manual trolleys and buggies are listed for hire, and lessons can be arranged individually or for groups. Specify Álamos in the booking: the name of the resort alone does not identify which of its two courses you will play. The published golf rules require a handicap certificate and permit the operation to combine smaller parties during busy months. For a golf holiday with several rounds, contrasting Álamos with the wider Morgado layout is a straightforward way to vary the programme.
