Morgado Golf Course

Morgado is an 18-hole course in the inland valley of Morgado do Reguengo, north of Portimão. Wide fairways and Scottish-style bunkering give the par 73 layout an open character. It shares its golf base with Álamos, allowing two distinct rounds without changing resort or travelling across the region.

About the course

Morgado Golf Course occupies a valley at Morgado do Reguengo, inland from Portimão towards the Monchique hills. Its 18-hole, par 73 European Golf Design layout uses broad fairways and pronounced bunkering. Although the operator describes links influences, this is an inland course in the Algarve’s barrocal landscape, rather than golf on coastal dunes. It offers a different setting from the beach resorts and is worth considering for players who want open fairway views and a countryside golf day.

Álamos is the separate 18-hole course at the same resort, so a two-course visit can provide variety without a second arrival point in another town. The operation lists practice tees, putting and chipping greens, individual and group tuition, a clubhouse, a golf shop and hire equipment. Golfers should choose the course by name when reserving through the shared system. Its booking terms require a handicap certificate and allow the starter to group players into larger flights in busier periods. A booking for one or two people therefore does not necessarily promise exclusive use of a tee slot.
