About the course
Pine Cliffs Golf Course occupies the clifftop resort at Açoteias, on the eastern side of Albufeira. Martin Hawtree designed nine holes through the pines above the coast. The sixth, a par 3 known as Devil’s Parlour, crosses a ravine and gives the course its most recognisable golfing image. Visitors should choose an appropriate tee and focus on the playable route rather than feel obliged to attempt a particular photographed carry. The course’s nine-hole scale does not mean that it is simply a beginners’ pitch-and-putt.
The resort publishes green fees for visitors as well as in-house guests, with both nine-hole and repeated-nine 18-hole options. Booking golf is therefore possible without treating a hotel stay as the only route, subject to the club’s availability and playing rules. The golf shop handles reservations and information, while the academy offers PGA instruction for different levels. Arrange a lesson separately if learning is the main aim of the outing. Non-playing companions can plan another resort or beach activity, but a golf reservation itself should not be read as permission to use every hotel facility.
