About the course
Salgados Golf Club sits near the Salgados lagoon and the Galé coast in Guia, within Albufeira municipality. The 18-hole, par 72 course is relatively flat, with water hazards shaping many of the decisions from tee to green. Its exposed coastal setting adds another variable as the breeze changes. It therefore offers a different sort of round from the hillier inland Algarve courses: keeping the ball in a sensible position around water is central to choosing a route.
The current club website explicitly welcomes players who are not staying at its associated hotels, with a golf-only reservation option. The operation lists putting, chipping and short-game practice areas, tuition, a clubhouse and rental clubs, buggies and trolleys. These services allow visitors to organise a dedicated golf day from an Albufeira or Armação de Pêra base. Reserve the round and any equipment together rather than assume availability on arrival. The lagoon is an important part of the surrounding landscape; public birdwatching and beach outings are separate activities from access to the playing course.
