About the course
San Lorenzo occupies the Quinta do Lago edge of the Ria Formosa landscape. Joseph Lee and Rocky Roquemore designed the 18-hole course through pines and around freshwater lagoons and saltmarsh scenery. It has a separate identity from Quinta do Lago’s North, South and Laranjal courses, despite sharing the same wider golf destination. The course’s connection to the lagoon landscape is central to its character, with the natural surroundings playing a larger role than a location in a town or beside a marina.
Renovation affects play at San Lorenzo, and the golf operation currently redirects bookings to the four Vilamoura Golf courses. No reopening date has been announced. Golfers staying in Quinta do Lago should arrange a different course for a confirmed playing day, or obtain a direct availability confirmation before making plans around San Lorenzo. The suggested Vilamoura alternatives require their own course reservation and journey to a different destination. North, South and Laranjal are also separate Quinta do Lago courses, each with its own booking, rather than replacement holes within San Lorenzo.
