What to expect
Zé Morgadinho occupies a former fisherman’s house between Alvor’s old fish market and the port. A small dining room and two terraces keep the setting close to the working waterfront while offering somewhere to sit down for a full meal.
Look for regional dishes such as fish stew, razor clams with small pasta, fried octopus with clams and maize porridge with baby clams. This is a useful choice when you want to explore Algarve seafood beyond a single grilled fish.
Planning your visit
- Find the restaurant on Rua Padre Mendes, close to the old fish market.
- Ask about the day’s fish and shellfish dishes when booking.
