After landing: keep the next step simple.
- 1
Complete your arrival
Follow the airport signs for any border formalities that apply to your flight and circumstances.
- 2
Collect your bags
If checked baggage is missing or damaged, report it to the airline’s ground-handling team before leaving the relevant area.
- 3
Find your transport
Use the current signs and your booking instructions for the bus stop, taxi rank, meeting point or car collection.
- 4
Reach your door
Keep the address, property pin and check-in instructions available for the last part of the journey.
Allow space between landing and onward travel for the arrival process, baggage and finding the right departure point. A flight’s landing time is different from the time you will be standing at the bus stop or hire desk.
Four ways to join up the journey

Arrange the assistance for each part.
Airport assistance and an accessible onward journey need to connect. Tell the onward provider about wheelchair dimensions, luggage, boarding needs and any required child seats when arranging the trip.
A station name on a route does not establish step-free access or suitable boarding equipment. Keep the assistance confirmation with the journey details, and agree what to do if a delayed flight affects the connection.
A late flight needs a whole-journey alternative.
Give your transfer or hire company the flight details and understand its waiting, no-show and out-of-hours arrangements. Tell the accommodation if a delay changes your check-in time.
Public buses and trains run to their own schedules. After a delay, reassess every connection, including the last local service or property arrival. Keep a taxi or pre-arranged transfer option in mind where a suitable scheduled connection has finished.
For a late hire-car pickup, settle the supplier’s actual procedure in advance. A booking labelled “airport collection” does not establish that a desk or shuttle operates throughout the night.
Save these five things before you fly.
- The full accommodation address and map pin. Include the property’s own arrival instructions.
- The transport confirmation. Know the supplier, meeting point or exact service and stop.
- The final local leg. Plan the distance from the station or terminal to the door.
- Seats, bags and access arrangements. Confirm the vehicle and any booked assistance suit your group.
- A delay plan. Save the provider contact, check-in procedure and an alternative journey.
Keep these details accessible on your phone even when mobile data or battery power is limited. A street address remains useful when a driver, host or station name differs from the resort name used in the booking.
