A day at Praia da Ingrina.
Ingrina occupies a small, well-defined bay on the south coast of Vila do Bispo municipality. Its scale is the attraction: a short stretch of sand, low surrounding vegetation and a clear sense of the cove’s shape. It makes a different kind of outing from the long Atlantic beaches to the north of the cape.
Plan for a compact beach rather than a long promenade. The café-restaurant gives you an option for a meal near the water, while the small parking area means a little flexibility helps on busy days. Keep beach equipment light for the ramp and short stairway, particularly if several people in the group need help with the final approach.
Parking & arrival
The paved approach road ends at a small paved car park. The council lists about 31 marked spaces, so keep turning and service access clear when it is busy.
The route to the sand
The pedestrian route uses a ramp and a short staircase. It is a short approach, but those steps still matter for buggies and anyone who cannot manage changes of level.
Accessibility
The council’s route includes a small stairway. Do not treat the presence of a ramp as confirmation of step-free access all the way onto the sand.
Facilities at the beach
- Parking
- Toilets
- Beach café/restaurant
A café-restaurant with toilets is listed by the council. The small size of the beach and its support area suits an unhurried, single-beach outing.
The water & lifeguards
A south-facing cove can still be affected by swell and changing conditions. Respect the bathing flags, keep away from rocky edges and leave room between your towel and the cliff or bank.
Vila do Bispo Council lists a bathing season from 1 June to 30 September, with lifeguards during that period. Outside it, do not assume supervised bathing.
