What to expect
The chapel stands within the small ravelin on the eastern side of Castro Marim. It forms part of a wider restored ensemble that includes the defensive enclosure and visitor facilities, placing a religious building within the town’s military landscape.
The chapel makes most sense as one part of an outing around the revelim. Enjoy the setting and views, then use the visitor reception arrangements for any interior access; arriving at the fortified hill does not mean every building within it is open.
