What to expect

The church is dedicated to Nossa Senhora da Encarnação. The diocesan account records a period of deterioration and restoration in the twentieth century, with part of its earlier gilded carving surviving in the chancel.

This is a village worship space rather than a resort attraction. Include it when travelling through Marmelete itself, keeping the actual locality clear if approaching from Monchique or Aljezur; interior access depends on parish use.
