What to expect
The chapel’s entrance preserves Manueline stonework from a sixteenth-century rebuilding campaign. Its single-nave form and later altar decoration provide a smaller-scale counterpart to the parish church of São Salvador.
The building has also been used for cultural exhibitions. Do not confuse it with the present home of the municipal sacred-art museum, which moved to the Santo António chapel; arrange any interior visit around the chapel’s own cultural or religious use.

- Nossa Senhora da Conceição Chapel Alcoutim
