What to expect
The Misericórdia church offers one of Tavira’s most memorable combinations of stone carving and tile decoration. The portal introduces a Renaissance building whose interior includes blue-and-white panels illustrating the charitable Works of Mercy.
The church and house museum belong to the same visitor setting in the historic centre. Follow the operator’s ticket arrangements, and allow time to understand the charitable institution behind the art as well as enjoying the decorative surfaces.
