What to expect

The church is dedicated to Nossa Senhora da Encarnação and is thought to have sixteenth-century origins. Look for its Manueline portals and decorated chancel arch; the eighteenth-century side altars introduce a later layer of gilded ornament.

Raposeira lies close to Vila do Bispo but is a distinct village. Pair a stop here with the separate Guadalupe chapel in the surrounding countryside, allowing for the different locations and visitor arrangements of the two buildings.
