What to expect
The church is one element of the Fortaleza de Sagres complex. Its setting is especially important: this is a fortified promontory visit, with the building encountered alongside the walls and open headland rather than in a conventional village square.
Include it within a fortress outing and use the fortress entrance and visitor arrangements. It should not be confused with Sagres’s modern parish church on Rua do Mercado, which has the same dedication but a different role and address.
