What to expect
The sixteenth-century church has three naves, a decorated baptistery and an elaborate main chapel. Later alterations followed the earthquake of 1755, adding further layers to a religious building that already had a rich decorative character.
The Capela dos Ossos adjoins the south side of the parish church, so the two belong to one visit location rather than two separate journeys. The human remains are a memorial feature of a religious site; consider that subject before choosing it as a family stop.
