What to expect
The church opened in 1960 and is dedicated to Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes. A painting of the patron in the chancel gives the maritime dedication a visible place inside the building, connecting present-day parish life with the town’s seafaring identity.
This is the parish church within Armação de Pêra, rather than the headland chapel at Senhora da Rocha or the older church in Pêra village. It is a useful local point of reference for travellers seeking worship without planning a separate inland church excursion.
Planning your visit
- Armação de Pêra and Pêra village have different parish churches.
- Interior access must respect the parish’s services and activities.
