What to expect

São Bartolomeu’s church represents several generations of rebuilding rather than one untouched medieval building. Its present nave and chancel developed in different phases, with later repairs following damage during Portugal’s nineteenth-century conflicts.

This is a quieter choice for visitors who enjoy the Algarve’s village centres. Keep the stop centred on Pechão itself and the church square, rather than expecting a large visitor complex; any interior look should fit naturally around parish worship.
