What to expect

The church is thought to have sixteenth-century origins. Its compact plan has a single nave, while the main altar and image of Saint Michael provide the principal decorative focus described by the municipality.

Barão de São Miguel makes a rural detour from Burgau or Praia da Luz. Keep it separate from Barão de São João when navigating: they are different villages, each with its own parish church and character.
