A day at Praia de Vilamoura.
Praia de Vilamoura lies on the eastern side of the marina entrance, with the resort’s hotels and roads immediately behind it. The beach continues towards Quarteira, while the marina forms the western landmark. It is distinct from Rocha Baixinha, which lies on the other side of the marina area.
Choose it when access to restaurants and resort services is central to the day. A beach visit can flow naturally into a marina meal, but allow for the actual pedestrian route around the harbour rather than assuming the two beaches connect across its entrance. Pick a named beach service or entrance when arranging to meet someone.
Parking & arrival
Outdoor parking is listed. Use signed resort parking and walk to the chosen entrance. Parking intended for a hotel or restaurant is not automatically public beach parking.
The route to the sand
VisitPortugal describes easy access from the adjoining road. Use formal beach entrances from the resort waterfront and keep away from the marina breakwaters.
Accessibility
VisitPortugal lists an accessible beach. Follow the signed equipped entrance, with seasonal walkways and assistance assessed separately from the paved resort streets.
Facilities at the beach
- Showers
- Beach bar
- Restaurant
- Sunshade hire
- Small-craft hire
Beach concessions and equipment hire are seasonal. The village or resort has a wider choice than the sand itself.
The water & lifeguards
Swim inside the marked bathing zone and away from harbour walls and vessel traffic. Follow water-sport corridors and lifeguard signals.
Lifeguard cover is seasonal, not year-round. Use the staffed bathing area and follow the flags displayed on the day.
