A day at Praia do Pintadinho.
Pintadinho is a compact beach near Ferragudo, with cliffs around the bay and a view towards Portimão. Its scale is the attraction: it feels quite different from Praia Grande even though both belong to the same short coastal area.
A beach bar and restaurant make it possible to combine time on the sand with a meal. The small setting also means that the choice of space narrows when it is busy. It suits a single, unhurried beach visit better than an itinerary that depends on walking around the base of every headland.
Parking & arrival
Outdoor parking is listed by VisitPortugal. Choose parking signed for Pintadinho rather than assuming that parking at another Ferragudo beach gives an easy walk along the shore.
The route to the sand
Road access is from the Ferragudo area. Take the designated beach entrance and keep to the public approach rather than crossing cliff edges to find a shortcut.
Accessibility
The official visitor entry does not confirm a full step-free route across the beach. Plan for the final transition onto sand and contact the beach support if assistance is needed.
Facilities at the beach
- Beach bar
- Restaurant
Beach concessions and equipment hire are seasonal. The village or resort has a wider choice than the sand itself.
The water & lifeguards
Keep away from cliff bases and rockfall warning areas. Sheltered-looking water is not a safety guarantee; use the supervised zone when staffed.
Lifeguard cover is seasonal, not year-round. Use the staffed bathing area and follow the flags displayed on the day.
