A day at Praia dos Três Irmãos.
Três Irmãos combines the open sand of the Alvor coast with the rock formations that begin at its eastern end. You can choose the broader beach setting close to the main support area without making a passage between rocks part of the day. The contrast between dunes and sea stacks is the main visual draw.
It is worth distinguishing this principal beach from the smaller coves beyond it. A view through a rocky gap does not make that gap a reliable route at all tides. Base a family beach day around an entrance with facilities, then enjoy the formations from a suitable distance rather than planning to move repeatedly between coves.
Parking & arrival
Outdoor parking is listed for the main beach approach. Use designated public spaces serving Três Irmãos, not hotel entrances or private resort parking unless explicitly available to you.
The route to the sand
Use the main entrance to the broad beach and the beach walkways. Access through the rocky eastern coves is a separate, tide-sensitive proposition.
Accessibility
Visit Portugal and Visit Portimão list accessible beach provision. Use the designated adapted entrance, since rock passages and the smaller neighbouring coves are not equivalent routes.
Facilities at the beach
- Parking
- Toilets
- Showers
- Beach support
- First aid
- Seasonal sunshades
- Restaurants
Services are focused around the main beach-support areas. Private hotel amenities above the beach are not part of the public facility list.
The water & lifeguards
Avoid sheltering beneath the sculpted cliffs or entering caves. Tide and swell can cut off rock passages, so retain the main landward access as your return route and follow bathing flags.
Lifeguard coverage is seasonal. Use the supervised bathing area when a lifeguard team and flags are operating; a visit outside the bathing season is a different proposition.
