What to expect
Built in the sixteenth century for the newer village, the church has three naves and a mix of architectural periods. Its eighteenth-century main altarpiece and religious sculptures show how the interior continued to develop after the original construction.
The church is in Paderne village, not inside the ruined hilltop castle. That distinction matters when planning a visit: use it as a starting point for the inhabited village and its nearby chapel, then treat the castle as a separate journey.
Planning your visit
- The parish church is in Paderne village, separate from the castle ruins.
- Worship and local visiting arrangements determine interior access.
