What to expect
The church’s eighteenth-century fabric includes a distinctive historic doorway, while the interior is used by the Museu de Arte Sacra. Religious sculpture, liturgical objects and other sacred artworks form the focus of the museum visit.
This is one combined church-and-museum site, so there is no need to plan two separate journeys for the two names. It works well with the old town’s other churches, but unlike a church entered around services, access should be understood as a museum visit.
Planning your visit
- The Museu de Arte Sacra is inside São Sebastião church.
- Museum admission and opening arrangements apply to interior visits.
