What to expect
The Misericórdia church was founded in the sixteenth century and has a single-nave interior. Its carved altarpiece and later painted decoration distinguish it from the larger São Tiago parish church, offering a useful comparison on a town visit.
It is a separate site from the better-known Matriz. Approach it as a compact heritage stop in Estômbar, with interior access dependent on local arrangements rather than an assumed shared opening or ticket with the parish church.
