What to expect
The sixteenth-century church contains Rococo carved altarpieces and ex-voto paintings associated with local devotion. These offerings connect the interior with the fishing and seafaring community below, making the church more than a distant landmark in harbour photographs.
The elevated setting gives the approach a different feel from the level waterfront. Include the church while exploring Ferragudo’s older lanes and steps, and allow any interior visit to fit around its continuing use for worship.
