What to expect
The church belongs to the town’s long charitable and religious history. Its interior preserves a carved altarpiece and tile panels from the late seventeenth or early eighteenth century, together with religious sculpture associated with that devotional setting.
Include it alongside the main parish church and the São José convent when exploring Lagoa. It is a separate building with its own use and access arrangements, so seeing the exterior does not automatically mean the interior is open for sightseeing.
Planning your visit
- This church is in Lagoa town, not Estômbar’s similarly named Misericórdia.
- No routine interior sightseeing opening was established from the source.
